WEEKDAY ACTIVITIES
GROCERY STOP: Campers can take a trip to the local grocery store to stock up on their favorite snacks and drinks for their room. This is a camper favorite!
OUTDOOR GAME NIGHT (Games2U): We set up Wii Games, Video Games, Giant Hamster Balls, and Booger Wars (like DodgeBall)- for campers to rotate and play for 2 hours of gaming fun! Probably one of the campers most fun on-campus events!
BLUE MAN GROUP: It is one of the most famous entertainment shows in the USA. Performed in a large theater (Charles Playhouse Theater) – Three performers, bald and covered in shiny blue paint, backed by a sizzling band create a show as outrageously fun
CHARLIE HORSE: A restaurant full of FUN. In this trip you will eat dinner, and receive a BAG of tokens to play in the game room. Win tokens, and choose cool prizes!
DICK’S LAST RESORT RESTAURANT: A casual, fun place to eat in downtown Boston, where the server staff have a lot of fun with the kids. Each camper gets a hat with something funny written on it. Campers leave full of laughs!
HARD ROCK CAFÉ RESTAURANT: What better way to spend an evening than visiting Boston’s fabulous Hard Rock Cafe! It is a chain of theme restaurants founded in 1971 by Americans Peter Morton & Isaac Tigrett. In 1979, the cafe began covering its walls with rock and roll memorabilia, a tradition that expanded to others in the chain. In 2006, Hard Rock was sold to the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The largest Hard Rock is in Orlando. Currently, there are 149 Hard Rock locations in 53 countries.
BOSTON RED SOX BASEBALL: The world famous, World Champion Red Sox Baseball Team’s home is right here in Boston. Fenway Park is a spectacle in and of itself. There is nothing more “American” than going to watch a professional Baseball game at Fenway Park!
SKY TRAMPOLINE: We all know our children seem to have endless amounts of energy! Well they will burn off even more energy at the newest craze going on in the US today… Trampoline Parks. Campers will bounce, jump, and play games in a room covered from top to bottom in trampolines!
BATTLEGROUND Z (Airsoft): Airsoft is a tactical military-simulation game similar in many respects to Paintball. Players use highly realistic-looking replica models of real firearms (rifles and handguns) to shoot a plastic BB at each other. When hit, a player calls himself or herself out, and follows the rules of the game. In this way, the game is dependent on the honor system. The field speed limits with a .25 gram bb is 350 FPS (238 MPH). BB’s can leave marks and welts on the skin when hit. Ages 10+ with signed waiver
PAINTBALL: Have a fun time playing paintball in one of Boston’s largest indoor paintball fields. 31,000 square feet of fun! Must be 13 years or older to participate, and parents must sign waivers. Price includes all equipment protective gear and 200 paintballs.
DUCK TOURS: One of the best ways to tour Boston… by LAND in your “Duck” and then, the Duck turns into a boat and you view Boston by WATER as well. Campers will cruise by all the places that make Boston so well known, while their ConDUCKtor will be giving them lots of little known facts and interesting insights about our unique and wonderful city.
FUNWAY CAFE USA: Go-Karts, Mini Golf, Trampolines, Bumper Boats… Funway USA has enough fun to last quite a few hours! Campers receive a 5-way pass and can participate in all activities on sight. For more information: http://www.familyfunway.com/#!attractions/cs4c
BOWLING: Pretty self explanatory, and lots of fun when all your friends are involved. Never bowled before, no worries – NO EXPERIENCE necessary, that is how much fun it is! Campers split into groups of 4, and will bowl for 1-2 hours! For more information, here is an interesting history of bowling: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowling
MONSTER GOLF: Let’s practice our putting, and laughing! Fun for golfers and non-golfers alike! The entire golfing facility is set up with a glow in the dark, monster theme! For a tour of the facility go to their website: http://www.monsterminigolf.com/fran-ma-norwood/
MOVIES: Sometimes there is nothing better than just relaxing in the cinema to watch a movie. We only choose movies that are appropriate for children, and parents will fill out forms that state what RATING of a movie the child is allowed to see. For International Campers, this is a great way to practice, learn, listen to the English language. Even if your international child does not understand every single word, they will be able to pick up on most of it by watching the movie itself.
WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
The following activities take place during the weekend. ONE weekend activity is included in your weekend stay cost. So your child is allowed to attend ONE activity for FREE if they have paid to stay over the weekend and then can register/pay for an additional activity if desired. The activities are not mandatory, and campers will be given a choice to attend or not in their Additional Services Forms (ASF).
DOWNTOWN BOSTON: It seems simple enough, but this is one of our sold-out trips every weekend. Every weekend we have a “big activity:” 6 Flags, Whale Watch, Water Country, etc. and then the option of going into Boston as well. We hire school buses to take the children (and their counselors) to the historical areas of Downtown Boston. They drop the kids off at either Faneuil Hall or Quincy Market. The shopping, sight seeing and restaurants are enough to keep the kids busy all afternoon. Campers will come back to campus by dinner time (4:30pm)
MALL/OUTLETS: To parents and adults, it may seem like a silly trip – but many campers like to walk around the mall, grab an ice cream from PinkBerry and do a little souvenir shopping with their friends. Campers are split into groups of 7-10 (approximate) with a counselor. They will stay at the mall for a few hours. Both the mall and the outlet are a short drive from campus.
6 FLAGS: Campers leave campus at 8:30AM and spend the entire day at this LARGE amusement park. Full of roller coasters, rides, games, food and more! Campers will be split into groups of 7-10 campers and walk around with their counselors. Groups will work together to decide the order of rides they want to ride!
NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION SOCCER GAMES: Come and enjoy the watching the professional soccer team – the New England Revolution soccer team in the great Gillette Stadium (home of the Patriots). Often (but not always) the Revolution allow some of our campers to go on the field for opening ceremonies or to be “ball kids.”
WHALE WATCH: Take a 4 hour boat trip on the Atlantic Ocean and view these impressive animals up close. Last year was an amazing year, as almost every trip had a lot of “whale activity.” The special habitat we visit is the summer home to such species as the Humpback, Finback and Minke whales. The North Atlantic Right Whale is one of the most endangered species in the world, and may be seen in and around the waters of Provincetown and Cape Cod Bay.
WATER COUNTRY: It is an amusement park… on Water! Join us for a full day of water activities including water slides, wave pools, riding the rapids, adventure rides and double tube rides.
TENNIS HALL OF FAME: This is not just an activity for the Tennis camper. All of our sports enjoy this activity because they are able to witness ATHLETIC GREATNESS! The campers will be able to enjoy the entire Hall of Fame experience along with having seats at the Qualifying Rounds for the Tournament. Past players of the Hall of Fame Tournament include: John Isner, Lleyton Hewitt, Nicolas Mahut, Sam Querrey, and Jack Sock. The campers will also have access to the Museum which is a motivational hot spot for our young athletes, regardless of their sport of choice.
